Verbatim will be showcasing its new Multimedia Hard Drive models, MediaStation and MediaStation Pro with integrated WLAN, for the first time in the Middle East at Gitex 2008. Other new products include the world’s first Lightscribe DVD+R DL 8x Double Layer (8.5 GB) and the Blu-ray BD-R 2x Dual Layer (50 GB). In terms of product accessories, Verbatim is presenting two high-performance gaming mice, Rapier V1 and Rapier V2, with a resolution of 3200 dpi and individual weighting which will make control of computer games even more realistic and exciting.

Verbatim MediaStation – top media player for the living room with 500 GB
Without a doubt Verbatim’s highlights at GITEX 2008 are the new multimedia players MediaStation and MediaStation Pro, which give users the very best entertainment they can get in their living room. MediaStation, which weighs only around one kilogram and stores 500 GB, plays back all common video, audio and graphic formats in a scaled resolution of 1080i. A LAN connection enables the station to be linked into the home network. Setting up personal playlists is just as easy as creating private password-protected folder options. Onscreen navigation is very clear and easy to manage by remote control. With its stylish silver design, the MediaStation elegantly and compactly fits into the HiFi and TV ensemble and is also very quiet as it doesn’t require a fan.
The big brother, MediaStation Pro, with its black design, offers three extra functions which turn home entertainment into a true experience: full HD capability, including HDMI connection for the best possible audio and image quality, and a WLAN port. Not only is the MediaStation Pro therefore wirelessly integrated in the home network, but users can also play back files from their PC in real time on the TV and wirelessly receive radiostreams like Shoutcast or Icecast. Other data carriers can be connected via the USB 2.0 port. It goes without saying that the package includes all the connection cables needed.

DVD+R DL 8x LS with 8.5 GB and Blu-ray BD-R 2x Dual Layer with 50 GB
In October Verbatim will be the world’s first supplier to sell the new DVD+R DL 8x Lightscribe. This combines the quality features of the existing Double Layer DVD+R with 8x writing speed and 8.5 GB storage capacity with the three major benefits of a Lightscribe interface: firstly no need for a printer, secondly rapid and uncomplicated production of motifs using the burn-flip-burn method and thirdly versatile-use label software with a large selection of templates.

Film fans will be delighted with Verbatim’s first ever recordable Dual Layer Blu-ray Disc which offers the very high quality standards for which Verbatim is famous. The Blu-ray BD-R 2x Dual Layer has a storage capacity of 50 GB with 2x writing speed. The Verbatim BD-R 2x Dual Layer 50 GB will be available in stores from September, in both a classic jewel case and a 10-disc spindle.

Gaming mice from Verbatim – make gaming even more realistic
Verbatim is also expanding its range of gaming accessories and presenting two gaming mice, Rapier V1 and Rapier V2, which will enable users to control computer games in an even more realistic and exciting way. Equipped with the latest technology, at up to 3200 dpi the gaming mice are super-fast but extremely precise at the same time. For a heightened gaming sensation, gamers can individually adapt the weight of the mouse by adding up to seven weights and thereby make their way through their fantasy worlds with even more skill.
